Preliminary Project BayUFP
Preliminary Project for a Project Consortium “Measurement, Characterization, and Evaluation of Ultrafine Particles”
The effects of ultrafine particles on the environment and human health have not yet been sufficiently researched. For this reason, in 2019, the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection commissioned the Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg to conduct a preliminary project with relevant research institutions in Bavaria to develop a project consortium dedicated to research on ultrafine particles.
Scientific literature was collected and evaluated, and a workshop was held with a group of experts from various disciplines to more precisely identify relevant research areas. Following this, Bavarian research groups were invited to participate with application-oriented and scientifically high-quality projects. In collaboration with the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection, a project consortium was finally designed to gain insights for scientifically sound risk assessment and evaluation.
Information about the workshop “Ultrafine Particles” on March 13,2020.
