BayUFP – Measurement, characterization and evaluation of ultrafine particles
Fine particulate matter is a threat to human health. This has been scientifically proven since the mid-1990s. However, one question that has not yet been clarified in this context is the contribution of ultrafine particles (UFP), the smallest components of fine particulate matter, to these risks. To enable a scientifically sound risk assessment of UFPs and their evaluation, the Bavarian project network “BayUFP – Measurement, Characterization and Evaluation of Ultrafine Particles” was established. Five specialist projects and a coordination and communication project are intended to jointly advance research on UFPs in Bavaria. The implementation of the network is supported and financed by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection.
